I felt like a child again. There were so many special effects that I was more than willing to believe was actual magic. Bert dancing on the ceiling, Mary Poppins sliding up the hand rail on the stairs, and of course, Mary Poppins flying in on her umbrella. By the end of the show we were both convinced that she really IS Mary Poppins. The scenery was gorgeous. Something I may not have appreciated as much were it not Brad's profession. Of course the music is incredible and, to me, endearing. I've always loved the movie Mary Poppins too.
Brad found some tickets online for a little bit cheaper than they usually are so we jumped at the opportunity. We were both done with work and school by noon, so we came home, got ready and headed up to L.A. so we wouldn't have to deal with rush hour traffic on the 91. It's a nightmare. Since we had plenty of time to kill before the show we walked around a bit and found the Museum of Contemporary Art. And it just so happens that Thursday nights from 5-8 admission to the MOCA is free! (We're really good at finding cheap/free things to do in L.A..) Plus it was right across the street from the theatre! We thoroughly enjoyed the museum and had just enough time to grab dinner and head over to the show. On our way from dinner to the show it started raining. The only unlucky part of our day. We had to run from dinner to the theatre in the rain without an umbrella. Brad did hold his coat over our heads while we ran, that helped. Needless to say, we were soaked by the time we got to the show. And my hair looked awesome. But Brad reminded me, it just makes it that much more memorable. I love him.

(I didn't actually take these photos, I found them online, but it's the same cast.)

we love mary poppins! Justin used to wake up when he was little and go to his parents room saying "poppins poppins" so they'd put it on for him. We miss you! hopefully we can visit you soon cuz we might come out to check out law schools!
