Home is where your MOM is.

I have written and re-written this Mother's Day post, but I just can't find the right words to describe my love and admiration for my Mom, and the other amazing women and Mothers in my life. How do you find words to express your love for the woman to whom you owe your life, your very existence? How do you find words to describe your admiration for the woman that taught you so much of what you know? How do you find words to thank the woman that has given little pieces of herself to make you who you are? No words can articulate love and admiration so great, and no amount of money will buy a gift extravagant enough to thank her. I've been thinking about it for a while now, and I think perhaps the only way to repay her is with grandchildren. To love and give of yourself as she loved and gave of herself to you. Of course, I could be wrong...and I can give no such gift this Mother's Day...but someday I will, and I can only pray that I'll be half the mother she is.

Maybe the only thing better than becoming a mother yourself, is watching your sisters become moms! (You know how much I love being an aunt!) My sisters are both such amazing mothers, and I can see a lot of my own mom in them.

Megan and Jossie are quite the pair! They're both so full of life and spunk! Whenever we Skype, Jossie begins to gather things that she wants to show me. She just holds it up and smiles then goes off to find something new. She has such a fun little personality, and my mom says she's just like Megan when she was a little girl.

This is Akayleia's first Mother's Day! She is so good with little Presley, and has so much to offer him. It was so much fun to visit when Pres was just over a month old, and see her rock him to sleep or sing him songs. I took these pictures while we were Skyping, just the other day, and they melt my heart.

My mom is my best friend! I love talking to her and "solving the world's problems" together. I miss her terribly! When I'm sick I want her to take care of me like only moms know how. When I have good news I want to tell her immediately, because I know she'll be just as excited. To echo the words of Abraham Lincoln,

Happy Mother's Day!

  1. Wow you scared me for a second. I thought you were announcing that you were pregnant! Not that that would be scary. It would be great!
