Great Grandma T.

Yesterday my Great Grandma Talbot passed away on her 95th birthday.

This is a picture of her, my Grandma, my Mom, my sister and my nephew. Five Generations. Aren't they all such beautiful people?

My Great Grandma and I shared a great love for Elvis Presley. She even gave me some of her original Elvis memorabilia! We both love "Love Me Tender". The song Brad sang to me on our wedding day.

She passed down a Peanut Butter Fudge recipe to my grandma, who passed it down to my mom, who has passed it down to me. Well, it's a work in progress...I haven't made a successful batch yet. But my Grandma and Mom have mastered it! It is divine!

Great Grandma T used to get a kick out of telling my Dad, the seminary teacher, her "off color" jokes.

She loved Coke, and if I remember correctly, she said it could cure anything.

We still quote her Petey the Snake jokes. "Go Hiss in your own pit!"

And sing The Burglar Song, which she also passed down from generation to generation, regularly. "I'll tell you a tale of a burglar bold, who tried to rob a house..."

I remember playing at her house as a kid and sleeping on an old squeaky bed she had!

I feel so blessed to have had her in my life. How many people can say they knew their Great Grandma? Let alone for 20+ years! She always knew us each by name - I remember always trying to remind her who I was if I hadn't seen her in a while and she'd always say, "I know who you are, Ashley!"

I even got hit on by an old man at her 90th birthday party. True story!

My mom said it perfectly, "She was such a colorful soul." She was fabulous and will be missed.
