The Engagement Story

Well, I've been asked to post my side of our engagement story on the Blog. Let me tell you that I couldn't be happier to do so! I just want to say how excited I am to join the Potter Family, equally let me tell you on behalf of the Shelton Family that everyone absolutely loves Ashley and are so supportive and enthusiastic to have her join our family as well. I'm sure that Family Reunions on both sides will be Extreme Adventures for all. If you haven't met me yet I hope you meet you soon. I am the Scenic Designer/Shop Foreman at Tuacahn! I was raised in good old Lehi Utah and recently Graduated from Weber State University in Scenic Design which brings me to Ashley. We met last Summer in the chaos of producing "Little Shop of Horrors" at Tuacahn, she the gorgeous assistant of the Marketing Director and me the Scenic Designer of the show. I should also mention that as fate would have it we attended the same College Single Adult Ward at the Institute. That's where I first saw here and fell in love with the back of her head, purposefully sitting a few rows behind her each week. Since I saw her at work and at church I decided that I would try and make a move, but she actually made the first move. I was so nervous and move"less" that I was relieved that she started the conversation. We went on a few dates and then I moved to Pennsylvania for work and we talked sparingly until I came home for Christmas. At Christmas we really hit it off I felt and that is when I knew that I wanted to move forward. It wasn't until I came home from Pennsylvania and started working at Tuacahn that I told her that I loved her, she seemed quite overwhelmed and shocked. Our courtship continued through the summer and when she left for the Ukraine I knew that I wanted to marry her. The story thus far seems quite good. I'm actually quite interested to see what happened next, but I proposed to her by typing it into our chat screen, no ring, no kneeling, no hug and kiss, she didn't even get to hear my voice. Sad and anti-climatic I know, but that's a 21st Century engagement if I've ever heard of one. So this story isn't finished yet. When she gets home I'll make sure to give her the proper engagement that she deserves, we'll get rings and make it official with a date and everything, I promise. As for now we are anxiously watching the seconds tick by.

Brad
