When I was younger my mom put me in Piano lessons for a while, and I liked it OK but I didn't practice and I dreaded going because I had a really hard time understanding my piano teacher, who had a really thick Finnish accent. Then when I started playing volleyball I practiced even less and then finally decided I would rather not play the piano and just stick to sports. Well, just like my mom always said I would, I wish I had kept playing the piano. For years I've been thinking to myself "I should just take lessons and stop wishing I could play!" but I always felt kinda lame since I'm so much older than the average beginner student. You know? So, when it came up in casual conversation at work last week, a sweet lady who works over at Tuacahn High School offered to teach me! She said she only teaches family and very close friends but she would love to teach me, and for free too! I'm really quite thrilled about it all! I absolutely recommend trying something that you've always wanted to do, it's like a breath of fresh air! What will YOU do?
Oh so awesome! I'm glad you're trying something new, and the piano is definitely a good instrument! Sometimes I wish I was back in piano lessons again too.... especially after hearing my brother Brad. That kid puts me to shame!
ReplyDeleteIs it Jana??? lol.. you will be so great on the piano! Im excited for you!
ReplyDeleteOhh, I am so jealous! I want to do piano lessons too! I have always regretted quiting the lessons my mom forced me to take too (just like she said I would). If I had a piano or a keyboard I would start up again. Someday!
ReplyDeleteWOW ASH....JUST AS I AM ABOUT TO PULL BRINLEE FROM PIANO LESSONS! HA-HA I WAS A SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL WHEN I TOOK PIANO OVER, AGAIN! I AM SO GLAD I DID. NOW, YOU JUST NEED A CALLING TO BE PIANIST IN PRIMARY TO MAKE YOU REALLY HAVE TO PRACTICE!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an inspiration! Good for you for doing something that you've always wanted to do. I took violin lessons for the same reason last semester. I'll have to think of something new to try for the summer. Good luck!
ReplyDeletei know what i'm going to try: going to college.
ReplyDeleteyeah, that's new.
