After a month of job searching, and interviewing with a couple of different companies I finally have a job! It's not the best or highest paying job a person could have, and it's only part-time but these days you've got to take what you can get! And who knows, maybe I'll love it and start climbing my way up the ladder. I work at a store called LUSH. If you haven't heard of it it's comparable to The Body Shop and maybe Bath and Body Works, but more unique. Like, I didn't recogize exactly what all of their products were or how to use them right off the bat. But everything is hand-made and very organic. They only use natural ingredients, no chemicals, and no, or very little preservatives. They're really big on the fact that they don't do ANY animal testing of any kind, they don't even buy ingredients from companies who test that part of the product on animals. Also, they have quite a bit of products that are vegan. It's pretty hippy, but I really like the products and the store is really unique and fun. The other employees are a riot, totally different from me, but really fun.
So, I went in for the interview on Monday, they offered me the job that evening and I have been to the store every day since to do trainings and inventory and things like that. Everyday I come home with loads of new products that they give me to try. Brad hates almost everything I bring home, he thinks it smells too weird, but I'm in Heaven! This is a really different job than I've ever had, so I'm excited for the change of pace, but also really nervous! My first official day of work is tomorrow. Did I mention how close the shop is to Disneyland? Because, let me tell you, I could take a 15 minute break, jont over to Disney, ride a ride, grab a churro and be back before the 15 minutes are over. I can see the front gates just before I drive into the parking garage. :) What's even better about it being so close to Disneyland is that it also means its only 12-15 minutes away from our apartment. I don't even have to take the freeway if I don't want to! It's way better than getting a job in Newport and having to drive on the freeway.
Anyway, to make a short story long, I have a job and I'm excited about it. Being unemployed is emotionally and even physically exhausting! I'm even thinking of going back to school part time, which I'm even more excited about!
Oh, and Brad is alive and doing well. He dominates at school and he just got a new calling, so he's pretty busy. One of these days he'll post all about it so you can hear it straight from him!
Yay for getting a job! Congrats! And I'm rather jealous that you could take a break at Disneyland. Who else can say that?!
