Disney was filming a commercial on Main Street that day for a new parade they'll be doing. One of the floats was Princess and the Frog, which is one of our absolute favorites around here, and Louis was on it. So I told Missy we had to stop and take a picture. We were kind of far away, so I had to zoom all the way in on the camera and lean over the fence so I wouldn't get a tree in the picture. I didn't think it would amount to much, but this is what happened at the last second.

He saw me and leaned into it. Best. Picture. Ever. I turned in to a 5 year old kid, "He saw me!" Me: Waving frantically at him. "Did you see that?! He saw me!" Yeah, I'm cool like that.
But then behind us a Dad walks up with his little boy on his shoulders. And the little boy yells as loud as he can "Miiiiicccckkkkeeeeyyyy!!" (There was a float with Mickey and Minnie in front of the Princess and the Frog one) And I mean, the child could yell! I haven't heard many adults whose voices could carry like that tiny boy. Mickey didn't hear him, so he tried again. "Hooolllllaaaa Miiiccckkkeeyy Moooouuuuu!" I swear my eardrums almost burst, but it was the funniest thing ever. Still Mickey didn't hear, but by that time all the Princess and the Frog dancers were looking around to find him. He kept yelling, "Hola Mickey Mou!" People around us were starting to yell to Mickey for him. Finally the dancers got Mickey's attention and he looked over and all of us pointed to the little boy. It was adorable! THAT is what Disneyland is all about, right? I think my favorite part was that he never finished the word Mouse. We seriously laughed about it all day! Every time we saw a character we wanted to yell "Hola Mickey Mou!" to them. If I were going to sum up the weekend in 2 and a half words that's how I would do it. Somehow it became the punchline to every joke.
We met Aladdin and Jasmine, who we happened to just walk up to when nobody else was around. Aladdin-really cute and very friendly (although perhaps just a smidge feminine) Jasmine-not so much of either of those things. Well, she was cute enough, just not overly friendly. Them there was the man taking our picture, "Heeeyy. You're matching!" (Puts his hand on his hip) You guys planned this didn't you?" Ok, maybe it doesn't sound funny, and we were matching..ish. But trust me if you heard it all, you would have thought it was funny.

We tried to pull the sword from the stone. Unfortunately, neither of us were successful.

We survived Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

We paid tribute to the King of Pop and saw Captain EO, which we both LOVE. It was Missy's first time seeing it, she was especially excited about it.

We went to ElecTRONica and partied it up.

And, of course, saw World of Color.

In between rides and churros we took loads of other pictures as well, here are a few of those.

I miss having my sister near me, but loved taking in every minute she was here to visit! I love you Lucy Goose!
Ha, Ha, what a wonderful piece of blog. I loved it! Cherish the time with sisters, it's the best no matter where you are. I love my sisters TOO!
ReplyDeleteHow fun for you! Glad you had a great time!

ReplyDeleteThat was so fun. You're blog was def better than mine. I also have more pictures (smeeps) that I haven't put up yet.
So totally cute! I can't wait until we come in Dec. Mark the dates 4-7th. We haven't been to Disneyland since Ben was 2 years old. It's sad. Josh says he doesn't remember any of it and he was 6. It'll be our last time together as a fam before Shayne graduates next May and leaves. Yikes! We will see you then if not sooner.
ReplyDeleteumm Jocelyn won't stop crying, she's upset that you didn't take her with you to see "kigger" and "punzel" and "princess and fog", cause those are her favorites she says.
ReplyDeleteMissy looks like she caught 4 feet of air in that last picture!Sisters are fantastic. We have had a lot of sister time this last week with Jan's carpal tunnel surgery- only a true sister could brush your teeth and wipe your bum!
