For the Love

Brad and I celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary on February 7th! And for the third year in a row, it rained on February 7th. Rain on your wedding day (and next three anniversaries) means good luck, right?! I think so. Well, the rain foiled our plans for going to Disneyland for a few hours after school. So we settled for coming home and taking a nap. We both had school all.day.long. so taking time for a nap was celebration in and of itself. (NOT what I had envisioned a romantic evening to be like when I was younger.) Then we got it together and went out for dinner and had the best time! (Thanks to our nap, probably.) When we got back we attempted to take some pictures to commemorate our staying married another year longer and this is all we came up with.

I don't know why, but we could not get a good photo to save our lives. But we did get a photo, which is better than we usually do.

Brad got me the gorgeous flowers pictured above, and this lovely hand stamped necklace with the coordinates for a place very near and dear to my heart.

Necklace and photo from HERE.

I absolutely love it. And Him. We ended the day watching our Wedding video and reminiscing on all the fun/romantic/funny things that happened that day. It was perfect!

Of course, Valentines Day comes around exactly one week after our anniversary. So we get double the romance in one month! So again, after a long day of school we treated ourselves to dinner made by someone else. We got each other some small treats and went back to doing our homework. Also NOT what teenager me thought Valentines Day would be like when I was married. But you know what? It was perfect for us! Valentines day doesn't need to be perfect and hopelessly romantic because we tell each other we love each other every day! We don't wait for those two special occasions to do things for each other because we try to do things for each other every day. Romance isn't always like I thought it would be when I was younger...it's so much better!

  3. So sad but true. When Joel and I get to have a get-a-way in a hotel it always consist of us sleeping as much as humanly possible to make up for the last 20 years of no sleep.
    Congrats on year 3!
