This semester has been a busy one for both Brad and me. I'm going to school full time and working part time. I usually only have one day off, Sundays. Glorious Sundays. And Brad is busy at work designing Rent, a multi-scene musical and being technical director for another show. That's on top of his school work and working in the paint shop and the scene shop.
The fact that we're both full-time students sometimes makes things interesting but we're able to help each other a lot too. There have been several times when I come home to Brad and rant about something that drives me nuts about the school or a professor I have. Or nights when I've stayed up reading a chapter to Brad so he can keep building a model. We do our fair share of wishing we were done already but when it comes right down to it we feel so blessed to be getting our education.
I still have a mouthful to say about the state of the education system in California but when I remember that less than 1 percent of people in the world actually have access to a college education I'm thankful that I do.
I'm thankful for the good teachers I've had throughout my life, and for my parents who not only taught me the importance of getting an education, but showed me by example.
