I love to laugh, loud and long and clear.

Probably THE worst part about living in southern California, in my opinion, is traffic. I hate it with a fiery passion. If I get off work at 5 then I'll be lucky if I get home by 6:00. It usually only takes 15 minutes or so without traffic, but even "light" traffic here is way more traffic than I'd like to endure, and there's always traffic! (Unless its New Years Day and everyone but you is hung-over so you're the only one on the road before 2:00. Yesssss!)

Usually, and I'm probably going to sound a little OCD, I'll pick a car and keep track of it when it's stop-and-go traffic. If I pass it, I'm proud that I picked the fast lane and it gives me some hope even though I'm still only going 10 miles per hour and stopping every 7 seconds. If it passes me then I get more frustrated because I'm stuck in the even more ridiculously slow lane. I know, stupid. But what else can you do when you're stuck in traffic by yourself?

Today my lucky stars were shining though, because not long into my trip some radio station played a "Friday Funny" or something, I don't remember what they called it. But it was a Jim Gaffigan bit, and I was laughing so hard! It completely reduced my stress and I was able to tell myself to just relax and drive and not worry about it. It still took me a ridiculously long time to get home (okay, okay I know it could still be waaaay worse, I'm not even on the busiest freeway), but I didn't mind it as much.

When Jim Gaffigan's bit was over I decided that a)I need to purchase some Comedians' stand up stuff just for the drive home and b)laughter really is the best medicine.

Then this evening, Brad and I were both doing some homework nothing too exciting, but Brad started making me laugh SO hard. I mean, I was literally on the floor in tears I was laughing so hard. Then because I was laughing so hard Brad started laughing and we just couldn't stop! Everything was so funny to us. I'm sure you've had days like this, isn't it the best? But we've both been in a good mood all night because of it. I love to laugh!

So, I guess this sounds like a strange thing to be thankful for, but today I'm thankful for laughter.

If you haven't heard Jim Gaffigan before watch this. My sister showed me a long time ago, it's his bit about cake.
